An engaging panel discussion and thought-provoking conversation with esteemed speakers including:
- Professor Neil Hanley - Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Head of the College of Medicine & Health at the University of Birmingham, Executive Director of Birmingham Health Partners and leads for the University on the Birmingham Health Innovation Campus.
- Professor Alex Richter - Professor of Clinical Immunology and Director of the Clinical Immunology Services at the University of Birmingham and previously worked as a doctor in the military. Her research interests are focussed around diagnostic innovation and reducing the risk of infection in immune vulnerable patients.
- Sian Dunning - Project manager for Medical Devices Testing and Evaluation Centre (MD-TEC) based in the Institute of Translational Medicine and responsible for the £7.3M facility; a state of the art usability facility with its own fully functioning operating theatre and simulation lab. Focusing on supporting companies throughout the medical technology and device commercialisation process, with specialist expertise in human factors design and usability.
- Feroz Agad - Accomplished executive, investor and entrepreneur with over 15 years experience of managing multimillion-dollar corporations in industries including healthcare, real estate, communications, tourism and information technology. Founder of SAH Diagnostics in 2020 and a distinguished healthcare leader with over 21+ years of expertise across the UK, US, Middle East, Turkey, South Asia and other regions.
More speakers to be announced and the event will be compered by BBC broadcaster Phil Upton, with the panel being chaired by David Kidney, Chair of the Life Sciences Week Advisory Board, a former MP and Minister and ex-Chief Executive of the UK Public Health Register, and former Executive Chair of West Midlands Health Technologies Cluster.
